How do your favorite colors influence your design philosophy and how do you integrate them into your work as head designer at MELIMELI and in your own home?
I love color and can't pick just one favorite. Surrounding myself with color and patterns provides incredible inspiration, but I always strive for balance in the color palette.
When working at MELIMELI, we spend a lot of time selecting our color palette. Instead of offering every possible color, we make a selection and choose perfect shades for our customers. For example, we have carefully selected our baby blue and Coral colors. We work hard to ensure that our colors are perfect no matter where they are placed. Since colors can be perceived differently depending on lighting and furniture placement, it is important for me to lead the design team so that MELIMELI maintains its core color palette.
When it comes to my own home, I am careful to choose colors that I love and that give me energy. My daughters and I thrive when we have a lot of color around us, but even here, it's important that the colors are well thought out and create a calm and harmonious feeling.
What are your top expert tips for creating a lively and energizing atmosphere at home?
When decorating, I always start by creating a mood board that shows what I like. Then I put together a color palette with five accent colors that permeate the entire home. It's important to choose the right color combinations to create a vibrant and stimulating environment. Decorate with small details and accessories that can give the home a playful and personal touch.
Can you share any budget-friendly tips or DIY projects you recommend for giving your home a fresh update?
I always have a project ongoing at home and enjoy sitting and painting with my daughters, Luca and Lucie. It's fun to then hang their drawings on the walls or on the refrigerator. My best tip for updating your home on a budget is that a sofa can get a completely new look by buying a new cushion or a beautiful throw. If you have a solid-colored sofa at home, our Idea Coral/White blanket can transform it into something entirely different.

Can you give us a sneak peek of what will soon be available in MELIMELI's assortment? Are there any exciting new releases on the horizon? In 2023, we will be launching many new and wonderful furniture pieces and products! But what's coming out soon, before summer, are our new striped fabrics in Light Blue/Off-white and Coral/Off-white. I am personally looking forward to getting my new sofa cover for my Luca sofa. I'm waiting for a striped coral upholstery, and it will look fantastic with a striped sofa at home.
